The legend goes, Ashoka went to the devastated battlefield to inspect the valiant deeds of his brave soldiers. He did not see any sign of victory. All he saw were heaps of rotting and burning corpses and half-dead bodies of injured people wailing in pain. Severe sorrow and remorse gripped his conscience.

Ashoka’s Famous Dwandwam:

What Ashoka meant was, “If this is my Dharma, what then is Adharma?” This sight of devastation of men and materials made him sick and he cried the famous Dwandwam-ridden monologue:

“What have I done? If this is a victory, what’s a defeat then? Is this a victory or a defeat? Is this justice or injustice? Is it gallantry or a rout? Is it valor to kill innocent children and women? Do I do it to widen the empire and for prosperity or to destroy the other’s kingdom and splendor? One has lost her husband, someone else a father, someone a child, someone an unborn infant…. What’s this debris of the corpses? Are these marks of victory or defeat? Are these vultures, crows, eagles the messengers of death or evil?”

~:Bal Thackeray’s granddaughter weds Gujarati guy:~

Mumbai: Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray's granddaughter Neha married a Gujarati guy in Mumbai on December 4, sources said.
Neha is the daughter of Bal Thackeray's eldest son late Bindumadhav. Neha has married Manan, son of an old friend of Bindumadhav and Raj Thackeray. The marriage has further cemented the family’s bond with the MNS leader.
The entire family, excluding Bal Thackeray, attended the wedding at Hotel Taj Lands End. Neha's mother Madhavi Thackeray welcomed guests like Manohar Joshi, Ram Kadam, Ashish Shelar, Gopal Shetty, Nitin Sardesai and wife Swati, Mangesh Sangle, Shirish Parkar, Shishir Shinde and others.

Raj Thackeray, too, attended the reception, along with his wife and sons, reports said.

Meanwhile, there is a speculation in media circles that the Thackeray's son-in-law converted to Hinduism sometime back, but the family has denied the reports.

Zina (Arabic) in Islam is extramarital sex and premarital sex. and how Islamic law deals with it:

Muslims believe that the Quran was revealed in stages over 23 years. Until revelation on a specific point was received by the Prophet, he followed the law of Moses or the traditions of Abraham but once a revelation was received, there was no question of his substituting it by his own will or by the law of Moses. It is generally accepted that the Quran was compiled in its present form during the period of the third Caliph Othman.

ZINA: The Extramarital Ssex and Premarital Sex:

The term zina signifies voluntary sexual intercourse between a man and a woman not married to one another, irrespective of whether one or both of them are married to other persons or not: hence, it does not - in contrast with the usage prevalent in most Western languages - differentiate between the concepts of "adultery" (i.e., sexual intercourse of a married man with a woman other than his wife, or of a married woman with a man other than her husband) and "fornication" (i.e., sexual intercourse between two unmarried persons).

It has been explained by the great 20th Century Scholar Muhammad Hamidullah and others that the reason the death penalty is correct interpretation of the Qur'an for adultery (not for fornication where all scholars accept it is 100 stripes) is derived from verse 89 of Surah (chapter) 6, in that it obligates Muslims to follow the revelations given to the prophets beforehand (listed in the preceding verses to 6:89) hence their laws apply unless overruled or abrogated by the Qur'an or saying of the Prophet. For this reason the Hadith examples cited above are regarded by the consensus of orthodox Muslim scholars as confirmation that Mosaic Law concerning adultery is applicable in Islam and so for this reason it is part of the penal code implemented in Saudi Arabia, Iran etc.

Moreover, the Qur'an considers extramarital sex as one of the major sins besides polytheism and murder:

“And they who do not call upon another god with Allah and do not slay the soul, which Allah has forbidden except in the requirements of justice, and (who) do not commit fornication and he who does this shall find a requital of sin. The punishment shall be doubled to him on the day of resurrection, and he shall abide therein in abasement"—[Qur'an 25:68]

Javed Ahmad Ghamidi, a well-known Pakistani Islamic scholar, has examined all hadith related to Rajm (stoning) in his book Burhan. Based on principles of Islamic Jurisprudence, such as the one from Shatibi, who writes that Sunnah is either explanation of the Qur'an or addition to the Qur'an. If it is an explanation, then its status is secondary otherwise, it will only be considered addition if it is not discussed by the Qur'an.[3][4] Ghamidi concludes that Quranic punishment for Zina in verse [Qur'an 24:2] does not leave a room for another interpretation.[4] He also writes that stoning can only be prescribed for someone who rapes or habitually commits fornication as prostitutes, as it constitutes hirabah (maleficence in the land) and punishable accordingly.[5] As it is attributed to Mohammad in following hadith:

“ Acquire it from me, acquire it from me. The Almighty ALLAH has revealed the directive about women who habitually commit fornication about which He had promised to reveal. If such criminals are unmarried or are the unsophisticated youth, then their punishment is a eighty stripes and exile and if they are widowers or are married, then their punishment is a hundred stripes and death by stoning.

Ishaq: 327 - Allah said, "A prophet must slaughter before collecting captives. A slaughtered enemy is driven from the land. Muhammad, you craved the desires of this world, its goods and the ransom captives would bring. But Allah desires killing them to manifest the religion."
