UP Madrasa Board Bans Co-education in its institutes!!??
Is this a case of Moral Policing....?? Is it a progressive action or a regressive one...?? We eager to hear Ms.Brinda Karat/ Jayanti Natarajan/Renuka Choudhury's views on this.....
Now where are all Television Channels and its high profile "Journalists"?? If the same thing had been done by any other organisation having the name beginning with the word, "Ram" , I can guarantee that it would have been by now become favourite "whipping boy" for the half-learned morons in Television Channels, not to mention about the great hue and cry.....
Who can help a community if its leaders practice, some outlandish, obsolete and regressive theories......and which are ably supported by the media channels. I myself studied in a co-education school/college but never faced any problem. If ones mind is dirty what can be done??!!
The Uttar Pradesh Board of Madarsa Education (UPBME) has banned co-education in madarsas across the state, saying it is against the “spirit of Islam”.
“In Islam, parda (veil) is very important. By allowing co-education we promote ‘be-pardgi’ (women without veil), which is against Shariyat...
“This is why we have directed all the madarsas to do away with the co-education system from this academic session. And we will ensure that this directive is followed in letter and spirit,” UPBME Chairman Haji Rizawan Haq said.
He said a madrasa is an institution of learning, where Islamic studies, literature and philosophy are taught among others.
Uttar Pradesh has more than 16,000 madarsas of which only over 1,900 are affiliated to the UPBME including 360 ‘wait for aid’ from the government.
More than seven lakh students are enrolled in these madarsas .......
