'False' cases on Brahmins will be withdrawn: Akhilesh
Alleging that “false” cases were lodged against Brahmins and upper caste people in previous BSP regime, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday assured the communities that all such cases would be withdrawn.
“In previous regime, fake cases were lodged against you people (Brahmin and upper caste). You were also sent to jails... I assure you that such cases will be withdrawn. Our government has already withdrawn some of the cases,” Yadav said while addressing a ‘Brahmin Sammelan’ at the party headquarters here.
The chief minister said his government would ensure that the honour of the Brahmin community is maintained and would do anything for their progress. Addressing the gathering, Yadav also assured Sanskrit teachers that their problems would be solved within a month, saying protecting and preserving Sanskrit meant saving Indian culture.
Attacking BSP, Yadav said that during 2012 Assembly polls, the party used to create confusion among the people but failed in its attempt and the SP got majority and called upon youths to repeat the performance in the LS polls.
