Thackeray scoffs at Karkare daughter's Ajmal remark

My additions: Capital (death) Punishment is barbaric and is a blot to modern society. Death Sentence have never been able to solve any problem anywhere in the world or else we would not have such high degree violence/crime especially in Islamic Countries, where terror is used to stop crime. Death Sentence only brutalises societies.
Moreover, Ms. Nalini never killed Rajib Gandhi, she was a very low profile conspirator to that serious crime.
Mumbai: Bal Thackeray on Thursday subtly criticised slain ATS chief Hemant Karkare's widow Kavita and her daughter Saili in Saamna.
Kavita, in an interview to a news channel, had said that her daughter Saili felt Mohammad Ajmal Amir, the lone terrorist captured alive, should be given a chance to live and realise the gravity of his crime.
"The Karkares may have a different opinion. But that is not the opinion of the family members of other policemen killed in the terror attacks," the Shiv Sena chief said in an edit in the party mouthpiece.
"The daughter of Tukaram Ombale, who fell to Mohammed Ajmal's bullets but ensured that the terrorist was captured alive, has said that the souls of the 16 policemen killed in the terror attacks would get peace only if Ajmal was hanged. Karkare's daughter should meet Ombale's daughter. We respect Karkare's martyrdom and we are expressing our opinion while respecting Karkare's sacrifice."
Describing Ombale as the "real braveheart", Thackeray said the policeman had helped catch Ajmal alive while receiving a spray of bullets on the chest. "Families of those killed in the terror attacks want Ajmal to be hanged. Only the Karkares want a humanitarian approach. They want to prove that they are different."
Thackeray raked up the controversy surrounding the investigations into the Malegaon blasts. "The way ATS paraded army officer Prasad Purohit in the Malegaon case was an attempt to appease Muslims. It was done under political pressure," he said.Thackeray compared Karkare's statements with that of Priyanka Gandhi's.
"Rajiv Gandhi's daughter Priyanka wants Nalini, sentenced to death for Rajiv's assassination, to be pardoned. Nalini killed not only Priyanka's father but a former prime minister and 90 others. Who will pay for the trauma of the families of those 90 people?"
