First-ever Bangla search engine goes into operation
Dhaka, Apr 13 (UNB) – The first-ever Bangla internet search engine – pipilika.com – went into operation here on Saturday, just ahead of Bangla New Year 1420.
The search engine will help find out any information in Bangla within a second.
The Engineering Department of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet and Grameenphone IT Limited have jointly innovated the Bangla search engine Pipilika.com.
ICT Minister Mostafa Faruque Mohammad attended the function as the chief guest and inaugurated the search engine by typing out ‘Amar Sonar Bangla’ in the search engine.
Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu congratulated the Pipilika team through a video message.
State Minister for Science and Technology Architect Yeafesh Osman, Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman, Prof Abdullah Aby Sayeed and Prof Zafar Iqbal were also present at the inauguration programme held at Ruposhi Bangla Hotel.
