Bangladesh: Hefazat-e-Islam a platform of war criminals: BIF
Dhaka, Apr 5 (UNB) – Branding Hefazate-e-Islam as a platform of war criminals, Bangladesh Islami Front (BIF) on Friday demanded that the government tries its leaders.

“Apart from Jamaat and Muslim League, Hefazate-e-Islam was against the Liberation War in 1971. They’re not only war criminals, they also misinterpreted and distorted Islam,” BIF joint general secretary MA Momen said while addressing a press conference at the National Press Club.

While reading a written statement, Momen said Hefazate-e-Islam took different names in different times in a bid to misguide people. “During Pakistan era, they formed a party named Nezam-e-Islam….they also formed Mujahid Force during the Liberation War and used Qaumi madrasas as their camps. They killed people and violated women like Al-Badr, Al-Shams.”

He urged the investigation panel of the International Crimes Tribunals to investigate their activities during the Liberation War.

Momen also demand enacting a blasphemy law in the upcoming parliament session to bring to justice the atheists.
