4 Bogra temples damaged, idols vandalised
Bogra, Mar 20 (UNB) – Miscreants damaged four temples and vandalised idols of Hindu gods and goddesses at different villages at different unions of Gabtoli upazila Tuesday midnight and early Wednesday.
The damaged temples are situated at Sabekpara, Karmakarpara and Bamunia villages at Sonarai union and Kamar Chattagram village of Rameshwarpur union.
The incidents sent a panic wave among the minority community members across the upazila.
They expressed grave concern about the incidents and demanded of the government to take immediate steps to ensure security for them in the area.
Deputy Commissioner Sarwar Mahmud, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Munira Sultana, Superintendent of Police Mojammel Haque, Hindu Bouddha Christian Oikya Parishad`s President Dr NC Baroi and Officer-in-Charge of Gabtoli Police Station Ali Ahmed Hashmi visited the four affected temples.
