Shibir leader held in Sunamganj
Sylhet, Mar 22 (UNB) – Police arrested an Islami Chhatra Shibir leader from Brahmangaon village in Chhatak upazila of Sunamganj district on Friday afternoon.
On secret information police conducted a drive at the village at about 4 pm and arrested Saiful Islam, literature secretary of the upazila unit of the student wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and son of Nur Ali of the village.
Officer-in-charge of Chhatak Police Station Shahjalal Munshi said Saiful was accused in a case filed under the Speedy Trial Act for vandalising vehicles during hartal.
The arrested will be sent to jail on Saturday after interrogation, the OC said.
